I’m 52. I have had my best season and fastest bike splits this year. I have been racing since 1998. I am not sure why I have improved but this is what I have changed.
#1 lost weight 5’10" usually race at 160-165 This year raced at 153-155
#2 Changed my pedal stroke, I concentrate on circles. Concentrate on the back half of the stroke
#3 I have always ran 3 times per week. This year two of my runs are shorter but much faster.
#4 got some swim coaching
My biking has improved the most.
Most of the changes came from reading slowtwitch. If you can get past the B.S. you can find some great advice.
If you can get past the B.S.
there lies the trick.
Of course, you get to a point where NOT reading slowtwitch will make you faster…but I would imagine that is like NOT smoking crack once you get used to it…
Very Cool.
I would think change #1 had the biggest impact on your results. Would you agree?
Now why on earth would I want to do that?
