Was there ever a review by Slowman of the Kuota Kueen-K that he built up with Valdora aerobars ?
I have searched for it in case i missed it, but nothing seems to come up from the archives.
It would be interesting to learn the difference between a P3C and the Kueen-K ( especially since i have just changed myself from P3C to the Kueen, but are awaiting the sunny spring weather before i can ride it)
Ha…I did the same. I went from riding a P2K (the aluminum version) to a Kuota Kalibur. Love the Kuota. Its more comfortable over 112 miles, and it handles like a road bike.
I went from P3 to Kalibur via QRoo Lucero. I like the Kalibur the best, however, the P3 I had was an SL not carbon, so I am sure the P3C would be quite good. I ride the nose of the saddle, and thus I have to ride somewhat UCI style in that I don’t have the saddle way forward…more like 75 if I sat in the middle of the saddle, but since I ride the nose, I am more like 82. But on the Lucero, I ended riding up at 84 degrees (on the nose) which just did not work for me.
I sort of move around on the saddle a bit. When I’m on top of the gear, and spinning nicely, I like to be more forward, or over the top of the crank. When I find I need to generate more power, rather than RPMs, I slide back a bit to be more on the saddle than on the nose. I’m thinking of sliding my saddle a bit more forward this season, though.
I did the same exact thing… had a 2007 P3C that I rode in 2 Ironman races and a handful of 70.3’s including Clearwater and I really liked the bike but something just didn’t feel right. My road bike is a Kuota Kredo Ultra and I have a Kalibur as well but the P3C felt better than the Kalibur. I picked up a Kuota Kueen K late last fall and after a few trainer rides I have the fit and setup dialed in to perfection and I can’t wait to get this thing outside!!! My biggest thing with the P3C was that I was in between sizes, I was either a 51 or 54 and never really felt all that great on either size.
i don’t think there was a review BUT as i went to FISTapalooza this weekend i saw it (among MANY others) hanging in the “indoor stable” (slowman’s got so many there’s indoor & outdoor bike parking) and it LOOKS wickedly fast with those bars.
He took the valdora’s off and put on a pair of ventus bars for a shootout vs. his p3. Unfortunately, he can’t currently ride it, since I jacked his TRP brakes for a pet project of mine. Secret mission. He may have loaned the valdora-equipped one to Rory Sutherland, who also quite like the valdora setup, as Dan fit Rory (who rides for Ouch) on a L Kueen-K not too long ago. But Dan does currently have a Kueen-K. But he hasn’t done the 3T ventus shootout yet with it vs. his P3C. That will also be a shimano vs. sram shootout as well.
