Ive been very inactive for like 10 years (age 16 to 26) and started running daily.
Everything was going well, going further and harder everyday.
Then on about day #14 my right leg hurt, I ran the next morning thinking to run it through.
Didnt work, next morning I could barely get out of bed.
I went to a walk-in clinic, got some apo-naproxen pills and been using those for 7 days now.
All my pain is gone
I’m still left with a small twitch in my lower right calf muscle. (No pain)
About every 2 seconds it twitches, very small I cant feel it, only can notice it if I stare at it.
Is my right calf muscle just stretching due to my extreme change from inactivity to alot of activity?
Or am I looking at another problem developing?
I was told to wait 2 weeks of the pills, but I have no pain and have been running again fine
Stupid twitch though, should I be concerned or is this twitch going to go away?

Too much too fast. Exercise daily but use cross training, walk/run, slow running, frequent but short duration running when you are starting from the couch. You need to worry about durability before anything else.
thanks, ill keep updating later incase others have the same issue. I’m expecting it to just go away maybe after i stop taking the pills in a week or 2.
As someone who had his IM Hawaii and Clearwater dreams crushed this year by calf injuries I would tell you to be careful. You do not want to wind up with a Calf / Soleus strain or tear. If this issue keeps up you shuld to go a good Sports Medicine physician. If you can, talk to runners / triathletes, they might be able to point you to a good physician. If you run through pain you might just find yourself back to being inactive for another few months.
