Not silly. I’m going to assume you talking about BP pullover. It might work but you MIGHT have to size up.

I think you mean a pullover over a sleeveless, right? I wear a Desoto First Wave pullover over a Neosport Farmer John sleeveless. Works great.
Interesting question. Does anyone know if the 5mm rule applies to what you are allowed to wear or if it’s simply a wetsuit specification?
If the rule is just that wetsuits cannot have more than 5mm in the chest the I think your suggestion would be super fast and I’m surprised other people haven’t tried this. It’s a bit like swimmers who have been wearing 3 blue seventy suits on top of each other (soon to be outlawed).
If the rule is that you’re not allowed to have more than 5mm of neoprene when you compete, what you’re suggesting would probably break that rule.

no actually…the other way around. BP goes first and then the sleeveless. i know it sounds weard but if i wear it the way you suggest then I will have to size up. I will be floating like a ball and overheating!
I’m in the same boat, Does someone make a L/S swimskin top? Say 1mm neoprene or anything to reduce drag.

I don’t think that would work. The BP PO is designed to go over a bibjohn or Speedtube bottoms. I’ve used it by itself just to take the edge off. There is a guy where I swim that wears one in the pool.
But on the other hand if your sleeveless is 5mm it might be tough to fit. Also, having 7mm in the chest could get kinda warm and like someone else posted might not be legal.
