I like it alot. Very subtle taste that doesn’t get old like gatorade and it hasn’t casued any adverse GI effects. It is not a complete nutrition product, but helps with some electrolytes.
What the other guy said! I’ve know Alan for a number of years. I usually do a bottle of the Scratch and a bottle of First Endurance on rides up to 3 hours.
I really like it as well. I have been using it for all my long rides. I mix it to the right concentration and then get the remaining calories I need using Honey Stinger Waffles. My longest ride has been 90 miles and it has worked well for me.
I really enjoy the subtle flavor and that everything in it is natural.
Haven’t tried it but a slow afternoon at the office allowed me to roughly figure out the recipe with a little chemistry knowledge. Quantities all seem reasonable (except for the magnesium citrate - fine for shorter events but for a 24 hour race it seems too much) and I plan on mixing up a batch soon.

It’s not supposed to be a complete nutrition product. As far as Allen is concerned, if you need calories on the bike, you should be eating them (no gels).
I held out for awhile after first hearing about lims drink, could it really be any better? but now I wish I had tried it sooner. Quite simply, it is the best stuff out there by far, I find myself drinking way more than i used to and I am able to eat without feeling bloated (I hit the HS waffles pretty hard!). Overall i get more liquid in and more total calories than when I was using perpetuem at 300cal per bottle and gels/bars. The only thing I dont like about SDM is that I had one of those foil bags break when I knocked it off my counter I wish they made better packaging.

They do… it’s one of those little sealable coffee containers. The idea is that you buy one of those and then put your SDM in it so everyone remarks how mod you are and such.
In response to the OP, Dr. Lim was kind enough to hook up our cycling team with some. I won some in a raffle at a talk he gave, and it’s worked well for me. Definitely easier to stomach than most of the stuff, and pretty good for what I’ve been riding. (Shorter stuff - road races @ ~60 mi)
It’s good because it’s a way to get in calories that isn’t obvious sitting and eatting. I find that I don’t eat during intense efforts (during the last hour of a road race, for example) but I still drink. The stuff only has a couple hundred calories per bottle (a serving is 16 oz of water, so I do 1.5 scoops in a normal 24 oz bottle).
Again, I think in terms of taste it’s better than anything on the market. Hands down, everything.
I have been using SDM for 8 months. Works for me so far: sits better in my stomach and seems to give a boost to finish long hard workouts, but I have not used it yet in races or very hot weather.
I think on sale right now @ Execlsports.com
Because Allen is on my team with me, I’ve been just a bit hesitant to bring up a thread like this, but since you have already…
SDM is the best mix I have ever tasted as well. I was turned on to it by Colby Pearce, who I have been working with, and 2 seasons ago it literally came in a brown box came with brown paper wrapping. After the first order I had to ask if it was really ligit. Allen literally was making it by hand. The effort that has gone into creation of this mix has blown my mind.
It is generally lower in calories than other mixes but that encourages you to drink more, and there by actually get the correct amount of calories. Hope that makes sense. It is made with real fruit and real ingredients
I just noticed that competitive cyclist is now carrying scratch labs. I buy most of my consumable parts (tires, tubes, etc) from them so I’m happy to be able to get most of my bike stuff in “one-stop”
