Nice review! I have been testing a pair of the Base model for over a month now for my site YMMV Reviews. I have put about 50 mile sin mine so far and have been pleasantly surprised. The upper breathes well. I tested them on Hawaii on vacation and they were great. I wore them on a 18 mile run without socks and had no issues with blisters which is saying something for me. While there is not a whole lot of cushioning, the amount it has is perfect for allowing a little ground feel but protecting your foot. I agree with the the OP in that they are secure and would be a quick on and off for T2. The shoes seems to just run smooth. Hard to explain.
