Yep, thinking of taking the plunge, but I’m right on the border between L and LL, so I thought I’d ask the ST crowd…

get the smaller size. with compression always go down, like i wear small in the desoto calf sleeves even though the recommended size would be large. the point is to compress, smaller is better.
I have skins. they are nice recovery tights.
definitely size down. I’m right at the border between M, ML, L and LL at 6’2", 188 lbs. Both the Longs were WAY too long for me and I have a long inseam (35.5). The large was too roomy. I got the Mediums and they fit perfectly.
I agree with Nebmot. They are nice tights, very comfortable to wear and they are quite breathable…I’ve worn them under a pair of jeans for a x-country flight and I had no issues with being too warm.
If you go to the Skins web site there is a contact form. I just used it last week before ordering mine. They answered asap with a recommendation on sizing.
My problem is that I’m 6-3 with a calf size of only 14". Thats a size small sock. They don’t size the socks by height. They size by calf size.
I’m 5’10, 160lbs and the med were too big, small fit perfect. I’ve been wearing for recovery for the past couple weeks & they’re great.
Just food for thought… the only way to guarantee getting an accurate compression is by knowing the circumferences of your limbs. Height and weight doesn’t seem like an appropriate way to size seeing that two individuals who are 5’10 and weigh 170 lbs could have different size calves and thighs. And considering that compression is about the muscles and limbs I would think you would want to find a brand that sizes based on circumference. It also scares me that everyone on here that owns compression is having to downsize what is recommended by the manufacturer… That right there should tell you something… Anyone else agree?
i think you’re misreading. Skins says specifically that if someone is on the border between sizes, than they should choose the smaller of the two sizes in question.
My experience was that they were right on the money with this recommendation.
If you check the Skins web site, their compression clothing is based on limb measurements not height. I’m 6-3 and weigh in at 178, yet I wear a size small compression sock. its based on the largest point of your calf, which for me measures 14". The medium is 15.5 and the small is 13.5 so they recommend the small for me.
i was just on their site… it asks me to enter my height and weight. There is nothing on there about circumference measurements. Can you point me to the size chart on their website?
Sorry, I was talking about the socks, the full tight may be different. I’d use the contact form and ask them for a recommendation.
