Who’s in? Could be an interesting weekend weather wise, high 40’s and windy could make the bike super fun. The new run route for the tri is going to be slower for sure, especially if it is actually 3.1 miles.
Im in for the Tri and Escape from the Judge but not the hill climb or road race. I watched my wife race (WIN!!) “Im All That” last year and i was exhausted, i cant imagine racing it. Good luck to you! I cant believe the level of competition in my AG (M35-39), are you one of those guys? If so, be sure to save some in the Tri for the other events, remember its a long day
Nah, I got beat by your wife. I was 4th AG for I’m all that last year. 6th AG for the tri. 35-39 seemed very deep for a local type race.
You might as well do the TT, its only like 8 minutes
I’m in for the tri only. The new run is going to suck with the steep hill at mile 2 1/2 or so. Temp looks to be 61 during the race as of now, but we all know that will change.
Another 35-39’er
Oh no! I just got worried about the weather now. It’s been in the 90’s here all week and now this BS for saturday? Either way, I’ll be there at the race with arm and leg warmers too! Maybe I can be talked into the “I’m All That” if the weather doesn’t suck like it’s supposed to.

3 of us have responded - Do any of us live with-in 2 hours of Skan? (I don’t - I live in CT)
This race seems to draw fairly top non-pro talent from a big area for some reason - clean lake swim???
Never know who is going to show up but the last couple of years you would have left with a check. 500/250/150 for I’m all that. Not to mention if you win you can then claim to officially be “all that”
I live a couple hours away but my wife is from Skaneateles. You are correct though, IIRC the guy that won last year was from VA.
Makes sense for you. Me as well - my grandmothers still live there. I can’t stay - older son has a football game Sunday - although I’d love to do the “I’m all that”
My wife and I are from Philly but her family is from the area which is how we found the race. Tell you the truth, its simply a great race and that + word of mouth will fill the race with fast people. I liked the run when the last mile was downhill, not sure ill feel the same when its uphill.
I have family in the area and they have begged me to show up to the race for the last 2 years. I couldn’t say no again, an opening in the race schedule and the fact that Skaneateles is one of the coolest towns in the Northeast brought me there. It’s just a great village to hang out in if you’ve never been. Also, I work in the area all Fall, so it’s like a backyard race for the most part.
See you all there and safe travels.

with bells on!
not entirely sure what to expect though. i have NEVER done a sprint distance tri. olympics, halfs, and a couple fulls but never a sprint.
i guess we’ll see how things go.
that 1 mile swim will probably take me out of contention…
one of my training buddies got second last year in the “i’m all that”
Funny I was in a very similar place 2 years ago. skinnyman was my first ever sprint after doing some IM’s and Halfs. Just seemed like lot of work to only race for an hour or so. Shhh no one tell Fleck
I’m all that really does favor the swimmers. The 800 m swim in the sprint is bad enough but the escape is for sure the longest race on day 2. I mean how much time can you really get back from the fishies in an 8 minute TT. You can’t beat someone on a beach cruiser by more than a couple of minutes. The winner last year put 8 minutes into me on the swim alone.
The party for I’m all that at Mirbeau was pretty nice as well. Gonna be fun no matter what!
Looking like a good morning tomorrow. Good luck to all.

So all of Chris G’s whining about the weather was for naught? He’ll need to come up w/ some other excuses now.
You kids have fun.

I can drive down to Skan in the morning and throw pizza at him on the bike course. Not only would it be annoying, but it would be impossible to resist eating. And who in their right mind is going to run with a gut full of pizza!?
If you are willing to drive over for the day why not sign up and race? I promise to wait around at the finish til you are done.
Actually in 35 mph wind gusts little skinny doodes like you and ML might get blown into the woods.

I think what you meant to ask was, “If you’re willing to drive out for pizza, why the hell would you go any further?” And I don’t think that skinny is long enough for you to put much time into me on the bike. I’d eat that course up like a sack lunch - and probably puke it up just the same.
BTW, when it gets that windy out, I don’t hide like ML. I just break out my Hammer pants and use them like a parasail. Actually, I just stole that idea from a guy I saw this morning - rocking the schwinn in flip-flops, hammer pants, and a red bandana. Appears as though the bloods have finally made it up to central new york.

Gang activity in Utica might actually make it more interesting.
can you still sign up?
