i never knew such bars existed that are so…vertical?

could be useful when you want to angle your arms up on integrated aerobars
.

They look extra vertical because they’re rotated up (either the basebar is rotated, or the clip-on clamps are rotated, or both).

Never mind the fact the ad states 11-speed shifting components yet displays an Ultegra 6700 derailleur…

Probably doesnt make much difference. Leipheimer liked his praying mantis style TT ?

I cant ride flat out tri bars - they’re not comfy for me.

Isn’t this a personal preference thing.

Profile Design has been selling the Carbon Stryke since forever. It’s funny that someone would look at these as some sort of old un-aero artifact. 10 years ago these were extremely popular as part of the original aerobar spec on higher end bikes, which is really not that long ago.

I do ok on Carbon Strykes. The biggest problem I have is finding a BTA bottle that would fit. I have the bars at the minimum width (3.5cm) which I think is too narrow for a TorHans. Or, I’d need a platform riser of 6cm to get from the tops of the bar extensions to put a horizontal bottle between my forearms.
