Sitting in the San Jose Airport

Gordon Biersch, California Pizza Kitchen, Cinnabon and Burger King. A hard place to get a healthy dinner. My willpower is not that strong.

At least there is wi-fi.

Go with CPK, then head over to BK for a shake.

I was stuck in Salt Lake for 6 hours on Tuesday so I feel your pain!

Jodi

I was thinking about a hat trick. A whopper, a beer then a cinnabon for dessert.

Maybe grab a Frappacino at Starbucks (yeah, of course there is one of those too) for the plane ride.

4000 calories at least!

I wish I could get behind the Cinnabon craze. I was up north in Wisconsin when I was a kid. My aunt made a huge batch of “sticky buns”, the homemade equivalent of the cinnabon. I had about 3 of the suckers and then got in the car for 6 hours to get back to Milwaukee. Let’s just say it was a LOOOOOOOONG ride!

But I’d totally join you for the whopper and beer

Jodi

Cool. I’m buying.

Logging off now…the temptation is just too great

Whopper and Beer…Lord, I am sure that’ll go over well in the stomach.

Yeah, no kidding. Being vegan for 9 months and then eating meat again, you go through some interesting changes. Red meat is still not my friend! I had a huge burger craving after Oceanside and had a monster one. I don’t think anything I ate that night emptied from my stomach for at least 12 hours. Talk about pain!

Well, huh, I’m really not going to go into my gastric routines, but saffuice it to say copious amounts of oatmeal and my daily dose of Metamucil make me a pretty normal, er, regular guy…Of course I say that and I give up alcohol during the season (Jan- Nov), but I had a single beer a few weeks back and, um, yeah not pretty…,
.

Well then, remind me never to buy you tequila…

Jodi

Just got an email from my wife…She has been stuck at LAX since 5p yesterday trying to get to Brisbain. Glad I don’t have much travel for work, just lots of it (work that is).

Oh, that SUCKS. Waiting forever to get on a flight that LASTS forever. It’s a nightmare. Hope she gets out soon!

Jodi

Back now (I love posting from my blackberry). Just polished off a mushroom, sausage and pepperoni pizza from CPK, washed down with 2 Maarzens from Gordon Biersch. Yum

I’m going to get a nice nap on the plane.

I was once stuck on the tarmac in Atlanta. For three hours. In the middle of the summer. Not moving, therefore no A/C. It was like a human weenie roaster.

Bob

I just had a Coke Zero and a Lemon Bar. Ok, I lose. No wait, I am 5 feet from my bed. Ha, I win.

BTW- My Palm Treo is the greatest thing since sliced bread. With decenr email and web capabilites, I can pretty much leave the laptop at home.

I feel for your wife. It took me over 24 hours to get from Houston back to SF, via Phoenix. I am very happy to be home.

My question: Is everything chicken fried in Houston?

It’s just usually BBQ!

I flew from Dallas yesterday to LAX and my plane was about 3 hours late. I spoke with a flight attendent who told me due to the storm that she was in San Antonio on Tuesday on a plane that was stuck on the runway for 5 HOURS!!! Then to add insult to injury, American cancelled the flight since the storm wasn’t going to let the plane take off safely.

Mother Nature can be a cruel mistress at times.

Took me 34.5 hours to get from SFO to DFW due to the weather (starting on Tuesday). That is a new record and I don’t want to break it.

Yes, welcome to Texas.

Yea I mean who ever heard of a burger and a beer lol

.

At least there is a CPK. There are so many airports these days that have NO decent food. A few of the terminals at Dulles come to mind. My last trip there I walked for 40 minutes without finding anything decent to eat - not even a smoothie. I’m in the process of changing jobs in order to avoid frequent travel and I couldn’t be happier. It is no way to live.
