Simon Whitfield Training day

Another video from Specialized. This time it’s Simon Whitfield’s turn. Enjoy.

Cool video! They actually pass my place on the bike section of the video. It’s pretty cool seeing Simon out doing his thing once in a while (among many other great athletes in town… Lori Bowden and Peter Reid used to live and train here too).

I got all excited at the OWS footage.

I don’t train like that but I’m sure that has nothing to do with why he is an Olympic champion and I suck.

The gratuitous 35K run was pretty funny.

Whitfield has and prob always will be one of the coolest itu athletes! thanks for the link!

Very cool vid. Loved this quote:

“When you walk away from watching this, you’ll think to yourself, ‘He swam 7.5K, rode 100, and he ran 40. And that’s just a typical day. And it’s bigger than Tim Don does.’”

Good night Lion, Good night Armadillo…
Those who know…know

Well, makes me want to buy a Specialized road and tri bike. I don’t think it will help me much.

Specialized does have a bunch of very cool athletes. Trek goes for the bike split, Specialized goes for the win.

Another great video.

Looks like a great area to train too, nice video.

Zach,

Victoria, BC. It’s a bit of a sleeper in the “Great Places To Train” stakes. It does not get the mentions that Boulder, Tucson, San Diego and some of the other really popular spots do, but for it’s size and population, Victoria has been the home of it’s fair share of world Class triathletes and other endurance sport athletes as well.

Great pools and open water swimming options. Outstanding road and trail running and awesome roads to ride on. It has it all. Granted the weather at times can be a bit dreary, grey and cool in the fall/winter/spring - but you learn to like and embrace that to.** **Hardens and toughens you up!

People and support services matter as well and Victoria has an abundance of both - great people of all levels to train with and super support services for athletes.

The grey skies and cooler weather also keep you strong, the sun and heat can beat you down after awhile.

awesome video! thanks for sharing it.

looks like a really cool easygoing family first guy.

Cheers!

Simon is a solid guy. I was watching one of his vids from www.whatmyphonesaw.com and noticed a great kids stool that his daughter was standing on in their kitchen. I sent Simon a quick email through the site and he replied back a few hours later with some details about it and where it came from (Google ‘Learning Tower’ if you’re wondering what I’m talking about…).

Training ends at 5:00; lots of respect for SQW…

That was WAY COOL, when is Simon gonna do a HIM or Ironman?

Not only did he inspire me to get into triathlon with his performances through the years, last fall he may have inspired my son to do so as well…

That page is REALLY COOL!

Thanks for sharing it!

Think I have a new all time favorite triathlete.

Cheers!

If you are a family man - that’s a good rule to keep.

A bit easier for SQW as he is a Pro, but still an important thing to keep in mind.

somedays mine starts at 7:30 - 8:00 pm… after bedtime… i am not a morning person, i have no idea how to get up at 5am.
