Anyone planning on racing Silverman?
I am.
It looks like it will be a tough bike course, 9000ft of climbing seems oppressive, I’ve been lurking on the forum for the race and they related teh difficulty to the half-vineman, which I did, and I didn’t find the bike course difficult.
anyway, it is a great excuse for a road trip.

I am not.
I will be in charge of the Bicycle special needs stop, however. I am really looking forward to this race. The RD is a local Master’s coach and an EXTREMELY organized person. His Kids triathlons are awesome to watch!!!
Any slowtwitchers at this race that have any questions about the course, feel free to PM me or ask anything. I am really excited for the first “full” distance race in Nevada.
Plus I’ve heard amazing things about the cool shwag bags the participants are getting. It is an innagural race therefore, the shwag has to be Da Bomb!

I race Silverman every day. Sometimes he beats me. Sometimes I beat him. But he’s always there.

i can’t decide!!! …the bike course sounds like a blast but the logistics of the separate transition areas and the fact that all gear needs to be picked up by midnite sunday nite is going to make it hard for me to do unless i bring a support person, right? would i be able to leave a car at the finishline/T2 saturday nite (and get the shuttle race morning to the start/T1? (assuming that i’ll be in any state to drive sunday nite!!!)
I am not 100% sure right now (I’ll defer to the RD on this one actually) but I believe that it should go as follows:
You drop your stuff off the day or two before. T1 is set up by the race.
You take the shuttle to the start and race.
when you are out of the water, the volunteers put your stuff onto a truck and move everything over to T2. When you are done with the race, everything is at T2. You need to pick your gear up out of t2 on race day.
I AM NOT 100% POSITIVE ABOUT THIS PROCESS.
You can contact the RD through the website of :
Hope this helps.
Ive done races with 2 transition areas before and they work out pretty smooth. They move your stuff and its pretty easy to get back. The 9000 feet of climbing would be my biggest concern.
