any one signed up for silverman in november?
Thinking about it. Don’t want to do an IM distance this year, but would like to just do the swim/bike and get some buds to do the marathon. Don’t know how flexible they are with relays, but it’s an idea I’m batting around.
I’m not signing up, but I will definitely be volunteering at it. RD is my swim coach and a hell of a race director. I’m riding a big portion of the bike course this weekend.
Just think, an out of town race that’s not going to have a massive run on hotel rooms. you can stay the next day and travel (it’s Veteran’s Day) at your leisure - no rushing back home for work.

I am not signed up yet, but I will be soon. THat’s why I have been posting all over the place about Las Vegas stuff to do.
That’s what I’m thinking, that it’ll be a nice vacation. I’m from NJ, so Vegas in november is definatly good. Plus, they have sports books in Vegas, so I can blow some $$ on NFL games.
Just have to convince a couple of friends that 1/2 marathon really isn’t that bad.
Post a silverman titled thread with a report on how the bike course is…it sounds rough. Almost 10K of climbing and more up than down…
Is there a tougher IM in North America?

I haven’t ridden the entire route. But, I live in Green Valley, whish isn’t far from the area, so I ride out there quite a bit. It will be a challenging bike course. No super tough climbs, but a lot of up and down. It won’t be the sort of course where you get into your aero position and stay there for 100 miles. I think it will be a great bike course. i love riding out there, great scenery, pretty good road, etc.
It could also be windy. And wind out there is a real bitch. There’s no place to hide.
I don’t know anything about the run course.
I’m considering signing up very soon here. Looking for a late season ironman and I like hills. Can anyone local tell me how far is Nellis AFB is from the race site?
30 miles or so. but it’s an easy drive on the 95/515 to the racesite.
