Is there a consensous about this inagural race? The timing is good for an end of season race. Anybody from Vegas have any gut feeling about the course? The website calls for a 1500 capacity…with IM Florida so close and the popular Soma Tempe 1/2 just a couple of weeks before, any guesses about the odds of this race filling up?
I really wanted to do this race - great timing as I live in snow…but I looked at the course. It looks like a very, very challenging course. I think I’d like my 1st IM to be a bit easier. It has almost 10K of climbing on the bike and over 1500 feet on the run if I’m reading it correctly…
I doubt it will fill as its a 1st year race, a tough course, not an IMNA…odds 10:1 of not:filling. Is there a particpant list to monitor?
SOMA - popular? Wasn’t very crowded last year - not near filling.

I thought about it myself.
But, I kinda like the idea of Mike Reilly calling me an Ironman @ the end of the race…there’s nothin like it for an IM distance event.
Plus “Silverman” ?- sounds more like a surname.
The only upside is that Vegas is pretty cheap as far as accomodations.
