Sidi T2.6 Shoes: Fitting

It seems that “most” advanced riders wear Sidi.

I have worn Sidi since 2001, but recently switched to Adidas… and the ratchet has already broken.

So it looks like I’m going back to Sidi. However, the main reason I left was that the fitting didn’t seem right for the first few years… as I look at my old shoes, it’s obvious that they are stretched well beyond their original shape. That’s cool (and probably best), but I’m looking at purchasing a new pair (old shoes are black and I want a different color).

My old road shoes are 43.5. I’m considering the Sidi T2.6 tri specific in a size 43 (smaller b/c it’s ridden sock-less). It seems to fit around my foot (back and sides), but there is significant extra room around my middle toes.

Anyone else experienced this?

Any tips or input that suggest a need for “sizing down” one full size with Sidi T2.6?
Thanks!

I ride the same size in the tri shoe without socks as I did in my road shoes with socks.

I was right on the border between wearing the same size on my T2s as on my Genius road shoes, and wearing the T2s a half-size down. At the bike shop guy’s recommendation I went a half-size down. I’m not positive it was the correct choice. The larger size had a bit of “slop” riding sockless, but in the smaller size I get some irritation on the top of my foot from the tongue, and my toes feel pretty cramped after a longer ride. I used the Sidi foot-measuring tape, and my left foot, which is larger than my right, is right smack on the half-size line, so it’s a tight fit.

My recommendation is to check the tape. If you’re under the line of the half size down with both feet, go for it. Otherwise, stick with your normal shoe size.

Very cool.
Thanks for the info… I’ll find a Sidi measuring tape.
All the Best!!!

The first thing to go to you local Sidi dealer, and let them measure your feet. I own a pair of said shoes, which I rearly wear, and they do not really work for me in terms of fit and comfort. Regarding the with, try using a pair of adjustable shoe trees to make fine tune adjustments. Even though I do not wear them much, they are a very nice shoe, and worth the money. I have better luck with a different brand

I noticed a little more room and was happy about it. My old pair was the T-1 and always seemed a little tight. I went from the T-1 to T2.6. Look at amazon, I found mine at a sizable discount.

Here’s a sizing chart with cross-matching and comparable sizing for many different (but major) brands: http://www2.bsn.de/Cycling/shoe-sizing.html

Looks like I’ll stick with the 43 for the T2.6 tri specific… I had a 43 in the T1 (back in the day… from 2001) and it fit well, but the 2008 model seems to fit a little bigger.

It’s not the current fit of the new shoe that concerns me, but rather the impending stretch that concerns me. I suppose that if it’s the correct size that maybe there’s very little need for stretching?

Thanks again!
