I am considering upgrading my three year old sidi energy shoes to the new energy carbon, now available in Europe. Because I need a half size and most shops seemed to have sworn off stocking half sizes, I will have to jump through some hoops to get these shoes in my half size.
The question I want to ask is whether there is a noticeable difference in stiffness between Sidi’s traditional soles and their new carbon sole. I have briefly tried the ergo 1 but I don’t like velcro closures. I much prefer the mechanical forefoot closures on the energy model. Is it worth the extra hassle and expense to get the carbon soles? I know that sidi’s carbon soles do not approach the killer stiffness of shimano soles but is it much better?
Any insight from anyone?
