Should I use my new bike?

There was an offer I couldn’t refuse on a new Felt B-16 Tri Bike.
I have been training on my Giant OCR1 with aero bars in an aggressive position, or I have been at the gym in spin class and on one of the gyms bikes.

I have a 140.6 race in two weeks… which bike should I use?

Personally, unless you’re more than confident that the set up on the new bike is correct, I’d use the old bike… i made this mistake once, rode a 148 on my new bike, two weeks old…i had only had the chance for a few short rides on it, and it wasn’t quite dialed in… ended up with some bum knees and saddle sore… was just off on the saddle height (less than a cm), but it made all the difference with that manymiles…

just my thoughts though…

Set it up a ride it a few times, it should be pretty clear if it would be ok to ride. I would ride it unless I was making a radical change in position.

I bought a new Trek Speed Concept earlier this year. I had ridden a Felt B2 for about two seasons prior. The Felt was the wrong choice for my body type and never fit well. I received the Trek SC about a month before IMTX. I had it fitted three weeks before IMTX. The fit felt pretty dialed in. I rode it twice prior to IMTX - 80 miles and 40 miles. I rode it at IMTX and everything went great.

As long as the fit is fine, you should be fine. Under no circumstances would I have used the Trek SC if I had not been completely comfortable and confident in the fitting that was done.

I was thinking along the same lines. Ride the bike, if it feels OK then ride it in the race.

2 weeks is ~6 rides?
