Today I received some prize money for placing 4th in a combined 10mile and 25mile comp - so I wondered if I should turn pro?
Ok the prize money was £10 and it cost £6.50 for each of the time trials so actually I am down £3 + travel costs and I probably only finished so high as the 10miler was on a slow course and misserable morning so attendance wasn’t low and most of the quick guys gave it a miss or only did one of the 2 events. However I did get the ubiquitous cup of tea thrown in at each event so I would have starved. Last year I managed to win a 3 pairs of socks an easter egg and some other chocolates so at least I moving towards cold hard cash
