Well, I’m ready to purchase my first triathlon bike, and am wondering if Cervelo is putting out a whole new bike line in September or just the Carbon Soloist. If there will be a replacement and it’s not in September, does anyone know when it will be, and what will be different about it. I bought my first bike (road bike) last July and was supprised to see all the upgrades on the 2005 model. Do you think I would be stupid to buy a Dual 10 now?
I don’t know Cervelo’s release plans, but there’s always going to be something bigger and better that comes along. Ultimately, you have to find a bike that fits and that you can be happy with regardless of what’s next. Of course if you have a bike now, you can wait but obviously you’ll pay more for the latest and greatest. Personally, I’d rather save a few hundred bucks and buy last year’s model. I have a 2004 Dual that I bought this past March for a song with multiple upgrades. I could care less what comes out next year because I love the bike and know it’ll serve my purposes for a long time to come. Just my $.02.

Good choice, love my DUAL 9! Make sure it fits well (Tom D. prepared a 54 & 56 based on my measurements, and decided that the 56 is the better fit). Very sweet ride & running off it is a blast!

Bought my '03 Dual 9 with 105 in September of 2003.
Never regretted it, though they uprgaded to Ultegra the next year, and then 10 speed the year after.
