Thanks very much!

Check out Front of the pack south of SF in Palo Alto and you have to hit Nytro if you are going to be in San Diego.

moment cycle sport san diego- jt the owner is a great guy, so are the rest of the staff

Hi Tech in San Diego.
in San Diego, don’t forget B&L Bikes. (www.blbikes.com) Or if you’re in Oceanside, swing by Rivet Cyclesport.
SF: Sports Basement

+1 on Front of the Pack (small, but completely tri-focussed). While you’re in Palo Alto check out Palo Alto Cycle on University Ave. by Stanford for the euro bike stuff.
In SF checkout Sports Basement in the Persidio. Lots of nutrition products and tri-gear (the place is huge)…all at serious discounts (and you can find an extra 10% off coupon if you look online).
In SD, Nytro definitely. They rent P2s, so bring shoes/pedals and do an awesome ride up into the hills and along the Pacific.
for sports basement, all you need to do is show a costco or a gym membership and you get instant 10% discount.
moment in pt loma in san diego great staff and service there
nytro in encinitas is big, but more rude as far as service in my experience
I have not been to B&L for years but when they were near calif pizza kitchen in solana beach i thought they were great–not sure if the staff is the same as the store moved farther north up pacific coast highway

i agree with nytro being both big and surprisngly rude.
If you get down the peninsula at all, go see Darrell at “Front of the Pack” in Palo Alto. He’s a fairly regular poster here and know his stuff well.

I had a great experience at Nytro when I was there in May. The two staff members I talked with were very friendly and helpful.
Pulse Endurance Sports in San Diego! Everything you need and are great people!
If you have enough time to go for a ride I’ll loan you a bike, just bring your shoes/pedals/helmet. The only requirement is that you go up Old La Honda and post your time.
We’re within 1.5 miles of a train station.
