Shops in San Francisco (near Moscone)?

Hi everyone,

I’m going to be visiting San Francisco in January for a conference and looking for some shopping recommendations. I’m going to be staying right next to Moscone Center and was wondering what tri or sport related shops are in walking distance or easily accessible by public transportation.

I noticed that there’s Performance Bike and REI on Brannnan St south of Moscone but I don’t have a sense of how far away it is. How long would it take to walk there (if it’s even possible)? What’s that neighborhood like?

I had hoped to check out Sports Basement but both stores seem pretty far away without a car.

Any other recommendations?

Thanks!

I dont know the area too well, but the public transportation is excellent, and easy to get around.
I would definitly check out Zoom Multisport.

Pacific Bicycles is on 4th street. About 5 or 6 blocks from Moscone. www.pacbikes.com.

There are other brand exclusive sport shops such as niketown, adidas, northface @ Union Square area. Definitely walking distance from you.

In San Fran there are some killer bike shops, but they sell mainly cafe style racers. My favs are:

Bruce & Danny’s Bike Boutique (they have a fresh cut flower shop in the rear)

The Pink Peddler

Flashy Tassles

Adrian’s Bike & Bath Abode (ABBA)

Giddy Go Go

Mommy’s Dearest

Pedal with Pride

Where do you go for a pedicure and steam bath?

I <3 Sports Basement! I would try to find a Muni bus that goes over there.

For me or for my darling LapsyAppso pookins. Oh, you’re such a cute puppy, aren’t you. Aren’t you. Come give mommy kisses.

Put on your running shoes and run along the water to the Presidio Sports Basement. It’ll be worth your trip. It’s about 5 miles from Union Square.

What the hell are these? Never heard of any of them.

To the OP: walking distance to the shop on 4th Street. #45 bus stops right outside of Zoom Multisports; pick it up on 3rd St bwtn Mission/Market–close to Moscone. After Zoom, walk on down Union Street (west) another 8 or so blocks to City Cycle. Take #45 to the end at the Presidio, then you could walk the 1/2 mile or so to Sports Basement.
