I’ve been racing with road shoes for a couple of years. They are starting to wear out a bit, and I’d like to get some real tri shoes for on the bike entry. I’m looking at Louis Garneau shoes. I can’t decide between TriAir and Carbon TriAirs. There is about an $80 price difference. LG claims that the carbon soles are more rigid for better power transfer. I am a somewhat heavy rider (~200 lbs) and can maintain 24mph-ish for a 40k TT AND have big feet (more flex in soles). Does anyone have enough experience with these shoes to tell me whether the carbon versions will make a noticeable difference. Or are the Carbon ones all about the bling?
