Sorry to hear about your predicament. I had the same condition in my left ankle and I think it was brought on by overtraining in shoes with very little motion control nike Air vitesse. I loved the shoes because they felt fast but I would trash them in 150 miles because they were completely wrong for my anatomy. I ended up having to stop running for about 4 weeks and switched to an elliptical trainer and easing back into running . I ended up switching to Asics Gel Landreth and for the better part of 2007 I was pain free. I ramped up my running mileage too quickly to get ready for the Chicago Marathon and felt the same PTT come on in my good ankle about a week before the race. I limped thru the last 13 and have been battling PTT all winter although not so severe and I think I have it under control. I do believe my PTT is caused by my anatomy and is brought on by over training. If you injured your tendons I would be more concerned with scar tissue causing your issues.
