I often hear that shoes only last around 400-500 miles. My current asics have nearly 600 miles on them and i haven’t noticed any difference. I feel like I should get a replacement, but what is the harm if there is no noticeable change. How you do you know when it is time for new shoes?
In my experience, the more efficient you get in our running, the lnger your shoes last. I get between 600 and 750 from a pair of shoes.
my asics only last 300mi before i feel them break down.
Running shoes, relatively speaking are pretty cheap. I retire mine after about 250-300 miles.
I have a very nice collection of walking around shoes.
X2 on being efficient and prolonging shoe life.
Rule of thumb is 500-800 depending on how rough you are with them
Personally I don’t track miles, but if I run and notice any vibration in my shins where I never had it before means the shoes are done.
Sometime I get 4 months and in others I’ve been over a year.
I had a pair of asics that I bought at Kohls and they were alright (only asics fit my feet right for some reason), but the sole came off from the rest of the shoe after 300 miles. I have a more expensive pair now so I hope they last!
400-500 with brooks
.
I used to rotate the brooks every 500 or so…until I read Born to Run. I how have a pair of shoes rotating on almost a year, and so issues, feet have adjusted, and I have saved some $.
