Shoe Covers

I promise I looked before i asked. That being said, does anyone wear shoe covers in a long distance tri?
Over 5 hours, I would think this would be worth some time…just a question of how much, I guess.

Is it not worth the time savings, or not worth the time lost in T1 fooling with those tiny zippers all shoe covers seem to come with?

Also, as we approach mid-summer heat, is it an issue with temperature in the shoe?

Just curious, as I see a LOT of discussions about equipment and their time savings, but no mention of shoe covers in these conversations.

It would not be worth the time lost in transitions.

In the mid '80’s Scott Tinley wore them at Kona.
I would not use them, but I am old and slow anyway.
