So every time I travel and put my bike back together my front forks have major play or movement in them. I usually can get it all snugged up but not this time. I have all my spacers in and have tightened the top bolt as tight as possible. Can anyone help me? Does anyone have this same problem?
What type of top cap assembly do you have, specialized caps often have a ridge that can contact fork tube if you lost a small spacer or the female assembly shifted and is now too high. Also check split ring (inner upper bearing race) is seated. If you can hold fork in place with upper tension and seat split ring completely there should be no play and if so it is your top cap running out of thread or hitting steering tube.
