I don’t use the bladder system on my Shiv for fluids (aero bottle holder works better for me for second bottle) but I was thinking it might be a useful location to create some sort of small storage resevoir to hold gels + salt tabs instead of taping stuff to the top tube. I am thinking it would have to be some sort of bag/net smaller than the fluid bladder that could fit in the hole. Has anyone tried this? If so, any guidance or advice on what works best?
thanks,
Jack
The fuel cell would be a better option - the rubber top cap can hold gels and tabs. How would you plan to get the gels out once you jammed them in the bladder?
I agree with MDM. I have the fuel cell. You can cram about 5 gels in the top part. I don’t see how you would easily get at anything in the frame while riding. The opening is too small.
this is brilliant. the two previous posters do not understand but i am with you. i will be doing this on my shiv fo sho.
I have my flat kit in the fuelselage area. Tube, CO2, inflater head, tire lever, all taped to a piece of string that is looped around the screw that holds the lid on. I can just grab the string and pull the whole thing out in a second. Took a little work to get it to sit right so it would come back out easily.
I put electrical tape over the opening.
any picture too show?
Genius! Never thought about that ! I will be trying that

Great idea Jason!
I had tried something with an elastic band before and it sort of worked, however Just taping the lid to the fuselage seems smartest as it is a pain to screw and unscrew the little bolt.
