I know someone talked about this before but I was thinking about shipping my bike back and maybe a luggage after the IM so I can go enjoy the others island without all that. How much is it to ship bike box back?
It’s not too expensive to ship stuff back to the mainland as long as you do it properly. Make sure they measure things correctly when calculating your rates…there’s a pretty wide range of prices that you’ll be quoted for the exact same service depending on where you go.
Hi Marisol~ Either of the two bike shops can take care of shipping your bike back for you, they’ll even pack it if you want to pay the fee. Be sure to arrange with them before hand as they’re slammed in the week before AND after IM. HP Bike Works has a good website with lots of information and a shipping page you fill out and send ahead. hpbikeworks.com. B&L is the IM official bike shop but their shipping page is not up, you can email with the manager Andy, andy@insideoutsports.com.
Six weeks!!!
Marisol, I’ll second Football Mom. Friends have used both shops to recieve, assemble, dissassemble, ship their bikes. Both shops are great and can take a lot of worry and hassle off your mind.
hey stop making all the slow people jealous … all i hear is kona, kona, kona … lol
I used the official service from Inside Out last year and it worked like a charm. Dropped bike off day after race, and it arrived at my home (east coast US) shortly after I did. BTW, much MUCH better packing job than I would have done. Expensive yes, but worth doing.
Good luck!
Paul
How much did that cost? i can pack my bike by myself I am just concern about all the fees!
Bikeworks 808 326 2453 will ship your bike back to the US Mainland via UPS insured for $130.00. You pack it, they send it.
I should have specified… they ship via UPS for $130.00 and they can insure your bike up to $5000.
HP Bikeworks gets my vote…kj
