I just purchased a set of race wheels on EBAY that comes with a SRAM 10 speed cassette. What does the cassette have to be compatible with? I have Shimano Ultegra shifters and derailers. Will I need to purchase a Shimano cassette or will the SRAM still work?
It’s compatible. Same spacing as a Shimano cassette. I run Shimano cassette with my SRAM drivetrain, so they are interchangeable.
What he said. Every SRAM Cassette has worked with my all of my Shimano stuff.

I’m using a Shimano 10 sp cassette on my SRAM RED setup. Works better than the SRAM RED cassette. But RED cassette is noisier because it is like a megaphone made out of a solid billet of metal (at least that is what some bike mechanics explained it like). Makes sense because RED is hollow inside the “cone” of gears.
