I’m looking to get the new Shimano TR50 shoe. I need your personal and professional opinion
I have the older version (last years). Great in a word. Stiff, light and well made. Recommended.
Well, since you asked…
I like them a lot. I don’t think they would do well if you have a real narrow foot however. I was in an old pair of Carnac TRS7s forever because I couldn’t find anything I like to replace them. I am a one shoe guy, don’t have riding and racing shoes and these do well as both.
I tried the Specialized, liked them alright, but they didn’t work well with my foot and they aren’t the best all around shoes.
I tried the Carnac TRS9 carbons and thought they were very poorly made and not a good shoe at all.
Finally came to these, great quality on the construction, nice fit, very comfy, but feel more like you are wearing a cycling shoe (which I like) as opposed to it feeling like you are wearing basically nothing in the Specialized.
Those little white ridges on the top are for channelling air or something, seem kind of gimmicky, but the strap is trimable which is an awesome idea in my opinion. The quality and the stiffness of the sole are great as well.
Hope that helps.
dimpled strap’s gotta be worth about 5 watts, at least, right?
