As far as tt shifters go, you’re just using one lever to pull another lever via a cable. Since there’s not a ton of throw at the shifter, it made sense to me to have a little more mechanical advantage at the shifter and move it a couple degrees further. I’ll try to take a couple pictures. I have a 6800 FD on my Time Machine with the goofy routing mentioned here and then a cross bike with STI shifting and a 6800 FD set up according to manual. I really don’t know if the goofy routing would have been enough of a change to clear that contact point issue you had earlier.
You couldn’t find a spot for the frame anchor screw thing to butt up against? I didn’t think about it too hard since I had room, so no comment.
I swear the bottom of the cage on the FD’s is higher than the 6700 series was. That or the 6800 is impossible to angle down. While I never needed any shims with the 6700 setup prior to the 6800 FD, I got a ton of chain slap in the small ring while using non-round rings. Rotor charges $37 for their little shim kit. What a ripoff.
