Bike Nashbar has some 650cc tubular shamals for $399 a set. Supposedly these are very nice wheels.
Campy Shamals? Great wheels but out of production for a few years. One of the best medium dish aero wheels ever made IMO.
No, these are the Fisher Price shamals.
I’m just surprised because Campy stopped making them several years ago. Still fantastic wheels albeit slightly heavier than today’s gollygeewhiz carbon aero wheels, but at that price a lot cheaper. They never seem to go out of tune in my experience.
Record (MrCampy) is also a big Shamal fan.
If they were 700’s I would buy 3 sets…I have 2 HPW12 now…never had a better faster wheel…never ever trued a Shamal either…
These are a closeout and I don’t think they have a lot. Someone must have found some stashed away in a warehouse. If they were 700 cc I would ahve bought a couple sets for myself.
Anyone know if these are 10spd compatible? The line item says that the 12 spoke ti axle ones are Campy 9/10, but when you click on the “more info” link a window pops up that says that these wheels are not 10spd compatible.
I know there was a cut-over point where upon the old hubs were not compatible with newer ones, but I don’t know exactly when that was…
The change in the Campy hubs occurred when they changed from 8 speed to 9 speed. They changed the shape of the dovetail grooves in the freehub body to accommodate an aluminum body.
