Shamal and HED disc....which tubies work best?

It’s been over 15 years since I ran tubies, but here is my situation. My HED came with a TUFO 22, but I was told that was a pig of a tubie and extremely slow? The Shamal is an old school 41mm deep section.

I’m interested to see if anyone knows of any tubies that seat well in these rims as well as performance considerations. I remember it took my LBS forever to find a tubie that would seat properly in my Zipp 440’s in '93, but Panaracer made one that fit perfectly. Conti Comp GP’s didn’t nor did any Vittoria’s…but Panaracer for some reason fit well. Not sure if the technology is such now that there are multiple options to alleviate said issues?

Thanks all!

No tubie advice here? :frowning:

Great thanks! BTW, the cut front derailleur for my single ring up front works beautifully. I have tried to throw the chain, but can’t do it even on shitty roads. I have never thrown a chain on a road bike anyway, but it’s nice to know how well that mod works…thanks again.

Can I drop 180+ lbs. on 19mm tubies? I thought that might be a no no:(
