The thing is, she used it in competition, where it is banned. It must have been in her sport bag ready to take, ie pre planned. Whether or not we believe it should be on the banned list is irrelevant because at the moment it is. It isn’t performance enhancing in the normal perceptions of PEDs but she used it to ‘self medicate’ prior to her race. This goes to show that in this exact instance she believed it would put her mind in a better state enabling her to race better. That actually is performance enhancing. No matter the reason she used, she used something on the banned list and when you do that you have breached the wada code.
Yeah, that’s what I was getting at.
But in the technical sense, this isn’t performance enhancement.
Maybe best described as performance ’insurance’
Even though it may violate the spirit of the Olympics (racing naked, so to speak).
I mean, she could have used a sucker or practiced meditation.
