Secretary of State Rex Tillerson is expressing growing frustration with the Trump administration and may be considering resigning from his role, according to a report from CNN Monday morning.
Though the former CEO of ExxonMobil Corp. has said that he would stay on as the top U.S. diplomat until the end of the year at least, several anonymous sources told CNN over the weekend that he might leave earlier than that.
Sources “familiar with Tillerson conversations with friends outside Washington†admit the secretary of State may just be venting, but they sense his doubts about President Trump are growing.
Tillerson reportedly agreed with Trump critics who thought it was unprofessional when the president lashed out last week at Attorney General Jeff Sessionsbecause he recused himself from the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election.
Trump referred to Sessions as “beleaguered” in a Monday morning tweet and has reportedly floated the idea of replacing him with former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R).
Jeff Sessions is being humiliated and taunted by the President on twitter.

So why aren’t the Committees and investigators, and of course our beleaguered A.G., looking into Crooked Hillarys crimes & Russia relations?
Is he just too much of a pussy to fire Sessions and instead taunts him?
When does the rest of Cabinet have an intervention? There a some people of high integrity in his cabinet who have demonstrated through a life time of service that they consistently do what is right personally and professionally who seem to in the middle of the Trump circus, who have remained silent.
When do the rest of the Republicans reach there “enough is enough” point? Perhaps when enough those that voted for them tell them that Trump has crossed their line.
Just when you think he has hit rock bottom, he manages to dig even deeper.
I think there’s only one reason he won’t fire Sessions. It would be another step toward a possible obstruction of justice issue and impeachment on those grounds. Particularly if firing Sessions leads to firing Mueller down the road.
Maybe he’ll invite Sessions on to the Apprentice and fire him there?
My bet is he is trying to bait Sessions into quitting so he doesn’t have to fire him. Trump is a tough talker from behind a computer screen but in person is showing to be someone very different.
If he fires Sessions, it’s one more position that he’ll have trouble filling. He’s only filled 1/4 of the positions requiring senate approval that Obama, Bush and Clinton had filled at this point. And the problem is not caused by the senate – Trump currently has no nominee for 357 out of 570 positions requiring senate approval.

Exactly. I hope Sessions digs in and makes Trump fire him.
Yeah, I don’t get why Trump seemingly throws his own people under the bus. Sessions, Rosenstein, Mattis, Christie, Pompeo. I’m probably missing a few. And even to a lesser extent Bannon and Priebus. The only people off limits seem to be his immediate family.
During the campaign I used to wonder if there was some kind of genius strategy to Trump’s attempts at public humiliation. Now I just think it’s barroom flailing - reactively punching at anyone based purely on emotion, with no end-game in mind, much less the presence of mind to realize he’s undermining his own team and his government’s ability to…govern. I could understand the vitriol while criticizing or firing people from the Obama era. Fine. But his own appointees? You handle disputes with them quietly, and fire them with the appearance of grace. That’s not “politics” - the same thing is true in business. It can’t be fun working for this guy. I think Vice Adm. Harward (turned down the SecDef job) called it right when he reportedly said the offer was a “shit sandwich”
I can’t get my head around why Mattis and Kelly didn’t turn him down too, or are still putting up with his shit.
I asked my Dad, who served with both of them in the Corps, this last week. His only thought was that they have great freedom to affect change and lead their organizations because Trump doesn’t get into any details and for them that was enough.
I can’t imagine how these two men who understand leadership so well are dealing with someone who has no idea what it means to lead, serve, or sacrifice.
"Yeah, I don’t get why Trump seemingly throws his own people under the bus. Sessions, Rosenstein, Mattis, Christie, Pompeo. I’m probably missing a few. And even to a lesser extent Bannon and Priebus. The only people off limits seem to be his immediate family. "
And then he lectures the Boy Scouts about how America needs more “loyalty”.
He doesn’t want people who will do their jobs. He wants people who will offer blind loyalty, even if it means that they’re neglecting the duty of their role or country.
This is like the worst of what can happen when someone is never told no, given boundaries, nor made to work to become successful on their own merits without the risk of hitting bottom if they fail. His leadership style is an utter disgrace.

If he cans Sessions, Rosenstein is (at least interimly) takes that spot. Sooo…
You’re kidding as long as Ryan gets promise of tax cuts and McConnell gets abolishment of name obama on healthcare, that’s all repubs care about. All 3 branches, gerrymandered districts, a bought Supreme Court, more money to crush opponents, voter suppression, little ethical review…a conservative dream. Unless grumpy strays from party line, he’ll be ok.
Attorney General Jeff Sessions has no plans to leave office as friends say he’s grown angry with President Donald Trump following a series of attacks meant to marginalize his power and, potentially, encourage his resignation.
“Sessions is totally pissed off about it,†said a Sessions ally familiar with his thinking. “It’s beyond insane. It’s cruel and it’s insane and it’s stupid.â€
…
**“He’s not going anywhere,†said another Sessions ally. “He is not going to resign. **What he is accomplishing is way too important to the country.†Rather than quit, Sessions insiders predict that the Attorney General call Trump’s bluff. And unlike other members of Trump’s cabinet, he has political wiggle room to do so.
Sessions will get the message, little support from senate colleagues.
I’ve read a couple of articles that say Sessions is getting support from his Republican colleagues. Curious why you think he is getting little support?
