SERFAS- warranty service

A HUGE wrap for the warranty service from John at SERFAS.

I had a travel case (and bike) damaged by the TSA when travelling to compete at IMAZ from Australia. I purchased a SERFAS sidewinder case which I think is fantatsic as a replacement (out of my own pocket… TSA don’t like paying for damage they cause do they?), certainly a cut above what I was using before.

I noticed that this case was damaged recently. The Australian distributors of SERFAS don’t stock travel cases so I had to deal with Serfas USA. John looked at a couple of photos of the damage and warrantied it immediately. I had to pay frieght to get the case out but to ease the burden he threw in a pair of sunglasses for me.

John, You Rock! Thanks for going beyond the call… I appreciate it and I hope that all who read this go and buy one of your fantastic products.

That’s good to know as I own 2 serfas cases. I bought the new version lately because the old one has stuff than can come out from the sides. airlines love to lift your case by the sides and they are becoming open… The newer one is harder to close though isn’t it? Overall I have been happy with my case, has i use the darn thing like once a month!!!

He sent me the new one and it has four locking plates and a removable lid.

I think it will be easier to close, somehow getting hinged lids closed is always difficult, my wheels always seem to move and that worried me.

I’m hoping to get many years out of this new one.

oh… do you have a picture of that one? I am curious… I had a really hard time closing the new box, only used that one once.

It’s this one http://www.serfas.com/bike_cases/SBC.shtml

The case that was warrantied was a sidewinder, one of the uni-directional wheelwells just cracked clean away. I’d say the courier dropped the case onto the wheels when they shipped my bike home.

Again, good luck getting somebody to own up to that!
