After years of gathering data from user unfriendly and expensive technology to measure swim technique, we finally bit the bullet and decided to move into the world of sensor technology. This summer we will be launching the Race Club Sensors, four sensors worn on hands, goggle strap and lower back …all synchronized to video from your iPhone or Android phone. Results (more data than you bargained for) in a matter of few minutes on the TRC App, after downloading the data and video onto your phone. Or bring it up on your laptop or desktop for a closer view. Each metric will be coded in green, yellow or red so you know where you stand. Click on the metric and it takes you to a brief explanation of the metric with links to the short videos on our site with drills to correct the problem. Diagnosis and treatment …all in the same App.
The first batch of sensors will be going out to the top swimming and triathlon coaches in the US and Australia. Then, we will start sales direct to triathletes and swimmers.
We are still in development, but so far, I am stoked with what we are seeing. Stay tuned.

Over COVID I started playing with this stuff, funnily enough with some VR gaming equipment. With the sensors and cameras you could sort of capture technique in the same way, then make some algos to process it and give some of those same metrics.
We will let you be the judge of TRC Sensors vs EO. We are excited about what we have and how it is developing. Our metrics (from four sensors) are accurately synched to your iPhone or Android video. Yes, the algorithms are the most challenging part of the project. Fortunately, we have some great people working on them. Looks like August launch. We will be providing 10 of the top triathlon coaches in the USA a set of them. Next round will become available to athletes. Gary
I think if they would work for individual swimmers would hinge on cost and the video aspect. I was interested in the EO sensors as a self coached swimmer, however the cost of those is prohibitive. As well as cost being a barrier, if they have to work in conjunction with video, it is almost impossible to video yourself if swimming in public sessions.
Good points. Our system uses your iPhone or Android device. While it is possible to use by yourself (above or below water), it will be easier to use with a friend holding the camera while you swim. We hope the value will be worth the price for coaches and individuals.
