Selling ironman spot?

I have an ironman spot for arizona, I think there are no refunds, correct?

How do I sell it to someone else? Is that allowed?

I notice lots of people viewing this, but no answers. Am I asking a stupid question? Or does nobody know the answer? heh

Can’t be sold. Banned for life from IMNA events if you do.

You can get a partial refund:

Partial refund, cant sell slot.

I highly doubt that NAS would ban anyone from life because think of all the money that they could make from that one person.

it’s happened before
.

What were the circumstances behind it? Also, my post should’ve been in a pink font.

.

i dont see how you can sell a spot, i had to give my id at ariz this year. If the name on the id and the name on the registration form are different wont that raise a red flag?

Others are right. Can’t do it - the ID requirements will get in the way.

Take the partial refund and call it good.

I imagine that if they didn’t enforce the “no-selling” rule, people would start scalping tickets because some races are in such high demand. It’s much more fair to use a waiting list.

Sure… unless you’re like me and have an exact genetic duplicate who could use your ID with no one being the wiser.

EDIT

Of course, you’re still limited to selling to one other possible entrant, so if he’s not into Ironman, you’re SOL.

Or buy a fake id…how close do the volunteers look at the security ID features of a particular states driver’s license…oh wait…I didn’t post that…

I sold my entry for a recent MTB race to a buddy, then loaned him an old expired driver’s license. He does not look anything like me, but with a hat and glasses on, the volunteer staffing the check-in table didn’t even blink when he handed her my ID. She looked at the name on the ID and the name on the entry and told him to have a great race. Of course, now I have a big DNF next to my name for the race since he missed the cut-off at the turn-around.

Wrong. I think he can sell, but the buyer can’t race  I’ve seen people selling bridges and Statue of Liberty before…

Legally it can’t be transfered. And I am 100% sure with nothing else in their hand they are monitoring all the boards and Ebay listings regarding this.
In the past a certain marathon was acting as potential buyers on Ebay and banning the racers.
Check their webpage for the partial refund if they still have those.
