I have a question but I also thought I would share some info. I am a vegan and I eat a lot of seitan . Most of the seitan I have seen has a fair amount of sodium and a lot of protein. Now the protein is not complete but if you combine it with hummus or beans it becomes complete. In terms of sodium loading a couple of days before a race it works well for sodium and protein. Not to mention a step towards less animal suffering. Anyway, off the box, my question is does anyone have an opinion of the Soma Half Iron in late October. I am thinking about doing it. Thanks.
AWESOME RACE!! Very well organized and the course covers much of the IMAZ course, so if you’re planning on racing IMAZ, I would say this is a must do race.
You’re right about seitan (although the rest of my family thinks we’re both addled!)
As for Soma, if you can get there do it! What a great way to extend the season! I live in eastern Ontario and it’s not worth it to fly there, but if you are either close or can swing the travel, then do it! (I think there is lots of information from last year if you search the forum. I think responses were very favorable.)
