Ginat got into the lightweight bike game. Check out the Tune Hex-taper BB. I have never really been a fan of splines, but I could see this as being a good compromise between the spline and and square taper BB.

I think it’s well under the UCI weight limit, as well. But this uberlight bike thing is definitely a new sport unto itself. Many of these bikes could easily be unusable for most riders.

That’s insane…now…if I only win the 30mil lottery next Friday…

Why does the UCI put weight limits on bikes?

That BB is pretty cool. The seatpost/saddle is pretty funky and I thought the pedals look like the ones Dan demoed and were recalled a while back.

The whole thing is a bit absurd if you ask me. Neato though. I’d love to be around when some poor soul lays one of these things down.

This thing weighs 4537.5 gram = 10.0034751 pound
I don’t think I want it for my next race!

He could put a pair of PowerCranks (at 3+ lbs) on that bike and it still wouldn’t be weight legal I think.

Frank

Why? Another one of the UCI nazis to make the bikes “on the same. level playing field” or some bullshit.

off by two pounds…

I saw some of those in a bike shop last week. Must have gotten all of the bugs worked out.

I still like the world’s lightest bike better- but doing this thing with regular shift/brake levers is downright impressive.

People wold go bonkers with stupid light bikes, if there were no weight limit. I wouldn’t want to ride a 10 pound bike and I wouldn’t want to be in a peleton with people that were riding such guaranteed accidents.

I think that 10 pound bikes are merely garage queens. I doubt anyone actually races these things.
