If you come cross on 40 to 17 you’ve gone well north to get to 17 in Flagstaff. You’ll then have to travel south on 17 and then north again on 179 to get to Sedona, OR 17 to 89A, Oak Creek Canyon south to Sedona. I’d not wish to pull a trialer south through Oak Creek Canyon or for that matter north on 179. Both roads are very curvey, narrow and no shoulder. You’ll be wasting alot of time not using 10 to 17 north to 160, into Cottonwood, 89A to Sedona. This route is by far the fastest, easiest and less hassel then the other way.
Please feel free to stop by. Directions to me are on our web site!!
Thanks guys for your info. I needed to make a stop in Hesperia on the way to Sedona so I ended up taking the longer but nicer IMHO route 40. It was prettier drive than thru the vast wasteland that is the 10 fwy.
Had a great time camping and hiking in Sedona in Oak Canyon.
Bbq every night. This night was a whole chicken with my Tecate cerveza in the backround.
Hanging with nature,
Made a stop at Slide Rock,
It was nice and early and mid week so the crowds were not there yet.
Me and my brave 3 year old,

A successful vacation is when my wife and I can outlast our kids… we won.
