Road: Angeles Forest Hwy
Place: 2 miles West of the intersection of Largo Vista Rd & Big Pines Hwy.
This ride is best of both world’s if you like climbing and decending. Park at Valyermo Post Office. PO is on Big Pine Hwy. Go east on BPH, you will start out flat/rolling for the first couple miles, than steady climb for approx a mile, than 4 to 5 miles of some of the best switch back climbing around. About 2 miles in say hello to the water tank. This will get you to Largo Vista Rd. From there its another 13 mi to Wrightwood. If you go on to Wrightwood, great new place for lunch etc is the “Grizzly”. Short climb out of Wrightwood than approx 25 mi of the most fun going downhill you can have on a road bike.
Note of caution: This could now be a very dry ride. The cafe at Largo Vista and BPH is closed. I am not sure if the water is on.
