Sebi with the “new style” aero bars

Just saw Sebi’s vid for Samorin and his bike has the “new” aero bars with the full support along them. I’d sure love to see one in the wild and hear how much better they feel (or what they’re like) having that weight displacement all along them.

New gear = shit, here take my money!

Speedbar’s. For ~$3k they’ll make you some

Link?

Link?
It’s on his FB page. Couldn’t find a link to share of it, just that it is on his Fb.

Lucy Charles does as well.

And Tim Don and Joe Skipper. They must be giving these away like crazy…

Sebi’s look like they’ve got a ton of padding on them. What’s the point of making a custom mold then? Perhaps they can downstream this to make them more accessible?

I was going to post a few weeks back about this - Dan actually wrote about it back in April on the frontpage here. I inquired about the price too, 3K well that is just too much. This really is the part of triathlon I hate. I hope someone just makes a version that isn’t customized, and builds a fairing like air foil into it. No reason to even do it in carbon. Just injection molding. TJs setup is basically a cheap version and his 2 aerobottles setup help with the aerodynamics.

Well… Wattshop does just that. Under a grand. Just announced them on Instagram the other day.

Hello Morelock and All,

Sometimes it is good to think about putting the gear on the cyclist instead of the bike.

Homegrown: use these children’s shin guards on your forearms under your shirt or arm warmers (or without a shirt) and a very minimal (and aero) support for them on the bike bars.

There are many to choose from to find your perfect comfort and fit with mimimal weight and aero drag.

$19.75

If you are going this route you are overpaying for shinguards. Should be more like $10

Hello DFW_Tri and All,

Right on!

And maybe even almost free by using a small piece of cardboard and some duct tape.

Only a matter of time, and us mortals can get some without selling a kidney.

Watt shop offering looks interesting; they seem to have mounting system to a trek.

For 50 bucks, hope they can make it

£600 eh…

I could whip something up for about $20 in material and 3-4 hours labor. But it seems like your arms are just gonna sit in sweat stew and get nasty. Need a lot of drain holes I reckon.

I wonder if airflow dries the pads out? Because I haven’t really noticed too much sweat on my existing pads which are the same principle.

The extra kidney is unnecessary and just adds weight
