I just bought a new quintana roo seduza. It is great bike and I am so excited to try it out. So I pulled it out of the box got it all set up and put the seat post in as far as I could got on the bike and it isn’t quite right. I need just a few more centimeters. Everything else about the frame fits me right except the seat post. I am going to get fitted but I need know ahead of time if it is possible to alter this seat post in any way to make it fit better before I waste the time to get fitted. I had a suggestion of cutting it but I don’t know if that is safe. If I do end up cutting it I will let them do it at the bike shop. The question is it ok if I get the seat post cut.
Carbon post, right? Go ahead and cut. Just:
A) Wear a mask, no reason to get black lung from carbon dust;
B) Measure twice, cut once.

Get a shop to do it then. It’s no biggie but if you’re not confident doing it it’s worth paying so you get some peace of mind
