Seat position (1)

Need some slowtwitch help.

  1. What should my seat position be (forward/backward position) relative to my bottom bracket?

AND

  1. Does it matter how much float I have in my pedals?

Is it all about where I am most comfortable, or are there certain rules I shouldn’t violate in these areas?

While you are at it, could you tell me if my life is going in the right direction?

Seriously, very good but very vague questions. Read and study Dan’s bike and tri fit articles via the links on his website (slowtwitch) and then ask more directed questions, OK? You will get much more out it than the shotgun approach…

You’re thinking of the KOPS measurement and is described on this site as “neutral knee position”. It has been the traditional standard for road bike position but nowadays some people question it’s validity.
