I’ve just moved to LA and am currently staying in Carthay Circle (Fairfax and Olympic), while I find a permanent place to live. Moving to LA, i figured there’d be a pool on every corner, but so far no dice. Can you help me find one nearby?

For outdoor pools, there used to be a masters workout at Santa Monina college. There is a program at the UCLA pool, there is one over by the hospital by Lincoln, and a few others not too far away…Check the masters swimming sites for LA, should be lots of info there. I havent swam there in awhile, so things may have changed…

Where are you going to work/live?
Both are still pretty up in the air. As much as I’d love to live in Santa Monica or Venice, my wife’s job is near West Hollywood and since I’m not currently working, it’s hard for me to argue that my “commute” to the beach should be shorter than hers to work! We’re looking at rentals right now and will probably end up West Hollywood or Carthay or South Bev Hills or that vicinity.
