morning lavender.
pull me out of this one.
I have some files (audio projects) that I need to put on a 8gb (biggest I have with me) sd card to take on a trip with me, the files are too big so I compressed them into a zip file which now reads at 7.01GB, the SD readd 7,46GB free space, but when I try to copy and paste it, it says it (SD card) is full and asks to insert a new disk…
what to do? I’m leaving in an hour, and don’t want to get stuck in traffic right now to buy bigger card…
gracias!
I could be wrong, but I think it may need some extra space as part of the copy/paste process (temp files).
Maybe if you made 2-3 smaller zip files of 2-3 GB each, you’d have more luck
I see, sounds reasonable.
I’ll look into it.
can’t touch the data file, (the big one).
I think Im off to buy a 16gb thingy… argh.
Are you sure it’s saying it out of space? Could is actually be saying that the file system doesn’t support files that large?
I’ve had that problem. IIRC The SD card was formatted FAT32 which only does ~2GB file sizes max. Reformatting to NTFS allowed 8GB file sizes.
