Anyone know what they will be going for? Can’t seem to find pricing anywhere…
I believe I read $13,500.
If you have to ask…
oh and Go Hoosiers!

Well, I did go to professional school at IU, but can’t find myself cheering for the Hoosiers… My dad would roll over in his grave. But I WAS impressed with their win this weekend!
Understandable…and yes, that was one crazy ass game…and a great weekend for the B1G

Ayayay!! I am guessing that is for the highest end one, HAS to be less for the DA version with basic wheels…
The DA equipped plasma 5 is listed at $6,999.99
The red equipped + 404 front/808 rear is listed at $11,999.
I work at a scott dealership.

Great, thanks… Much more reasonable (as reasonable as $7k for a bike is!).
I know they don’t sell a lot of them but the markup on high end tt bikes is ridiculous.
No Di2 version?
It’s well beyond reason at this point and at some point the market will win and companies will have to readjust. If companies would just sell direct to consumer you could drop the prices by 35% right off the bat in addition to an additional 7-9% for taxes. Problem is most of these companies make their money off the lowest end bikes which are sold to the “regular” consumer who needs an LBS to walk them through the purchase, so the brand has to keep up the business model with the LBS and not undercut them by selling the high end bikes direct to consumer at a different margin. I worked on year at a trek and specialized dealer and we sold over a hundred bikes each month, only three or four were nicer road bikes and we only sold 1 tri bike a month. In fact over the course of a year we sold one high end SC and two project one’s and two or three s-works over an entire year…not very high demand.
Right now i am seeing more and more people shifting to Asian direct frames, wheels, or buying online to get a slightly cheaper price and avoid paying tax (8% on a 4k purchase is 320$ which is not a small chunk of change). Canyon is a good example of a company adjusting to changing markets and i think more companies will follow. I have started to see more riders choosing brands which can be purchased online to avoid the tax and hassle of the LBS. The more savvy bike riders can do their own wrenching and can do their own warranty service (it’s called picking up a phone and mailing a box, not sure why an LBS is needed). Most LBS can barely stay afloat selling bikes, they rely on supplemental sales such as high volume accessory sales (higher margins), mechanics (that is what kept our shop out of the red on bad months), fittings, and other services which are very high margin. I am not bashing the LBS, but they are a good reason behind the insane prices…in addition to people willing to pay those prices ![]()
LBS has just received the framesets. £4300 as opposed to £4700 for the Plasma 3 TT which is nice, although Pro Missile Evo bars are way nicer than the Profile ones. I’ll upgrade in a couple years.
Any US prices up yet?
