I’m impressed the cyclist didn’t lose it under those wheels - that looks ridiculously close…

It’s England, so not surprised really. It’s a sport over there.
That sucks. Glad he is ok. But seriously, I can’t be the only one who is annoyed that he uses an apostrophe when pluralizing word’s, right?
Get on the Fking Sidewalk where you belong !!!**
.
That looks like a terrible road for a bike ride.

That was my thought as well. Lane is very narrow. The fact that other drivers went into the center to avoid the guy is indicative of this.
I wouldn’t ride on that road.

Jesus, settle down
Im not from the UK, but as far as i know, riding over there would be illegal.

You MUST NOT cycle on a pavement.
Laws HA 1835 sect 72 & R(S)A 1984, sect 129
pavement = sidewalk
“UPDATE: Mark Turley, transport manager at Forest Of Dean Caravan, has seen the video and said he’s “horrified” and will take disciplinary action when the driver returns, as well as co-operate with any police enquiry.”

Uh…he was joking, likely imitating what the driver of the truck was yelling as he passed.

You wouldn’t do a lot of riding in the UK in that case.
TBH that road has far more space for overtakes that we normally get.
lol sorry, I see the joking now - /pink would have been more clear
.
I view this as mostly the biker’s fault. Why is he/she riding on that road?

Where would you suggest the rider rides? Riding on the Pavement/sidewalk is not legal and cyclists have as much right to use any road they want that isn’t a motorway(Highway I think is the USA equivalent).

That’s what the center lane is for… or at least that is one thing it is for.
When I go north through town (mostly uphill so slow) I take the main road which is a single lane going each way, no shoulder, but a nice center lane… so cars can easily pass. Even though this road has the most traffic, it is far safer than narrow roads with no shoulder or center lane.

Seriously?
That’s actually wider than a lot of A roads in rural areas of the UK (as evidenced by the fact they had enough room to stick the coloured and chevroned median/turn lane up the middle of it). Caravan guy had plenty of room to get the fuck over when passing the cyclist.

The joys of being spoilt in the US with nice wide shoulders to ride down. Here in the UK you have to share the road with everyone.
Unfortunately, this happens all too frequently in Ontario, Canada. Nobody respects anyone else and they do not understand how dangerous these “Fly Bys” are. I have had several dump trucks and transport trucks pass my shoulder in a similar fashion. They usually are trying to send a message to us cyclists (to get the hell off their roads) and do not realize how close they are to ending our lives.
Be safe out there!

Jason - are you a cyclist - how do you do your cycling ? There’s nothing wrong with that road - its plenty wide and quiet. The cyclist is doing nothing wrong.
How the hell can it be his fault that a HGV beeps at him and deliberately passes close.
Luckily the owner of the company agrees with this - he’s fired the driver. He’d have fired your ass too if it was you and your ‘I see nothing wrong’…
Muppet.
I ride on bike trails 98% of the time. If I had to ride on roads I wouldn’t ride. This incident is exhibit 1,235,758 as to reasons why.

Let’s ignore the why. Maybe it’s the only access to his house. Whatever, that’s sort of irrelevant.
Sooooo, the punishment for riding on the “wrong” road is to be mowed down by a truck. Got it.
