Scam ads on the rise?

OMG! I can’t believe how many scam ads I’ve read for bikes or bike parts in the past 2 weeks between craigslist and Kijiji. I’d guess at 30-40 so far. I seem to see them more and more these days. I report them, but damn there’s a lot of them out there.

Here’s the common theme:
“The item is available and it is like in the ad.First of all you must know that 70% from this sale will go the Save Children Foundation where I’m working.I am a volunteer at them in UK and I want to continue this transaction through a 3rd part Parcel Force delivery…I am in England and I have talked with the people from Parcel Force already. The item is at them ready for delivery and I paid for the taxes and fees already.I worked with them in the past and everything was fine.I posted in your area also because I want to sell it fast(I need money). If you are interested please let me know for I can tell you the details”.

Or it reads somthing similar; “I’m overseas”, blah, blah, blah. Crazy.

Be careful too if you have something posted, I had a bike on craigslist and received emails that they would paypal the cash, they were in the army as an engineer and would have someone pick the bike up for them. There grammer was horrible, and I’m not talking punctuation/spelling, I’m talking broken english. This guy was supposedly an engineer in the US Army. Sounded like a scam, called him on it and they never replied.

There grammer was horrible, and I’m not talking punctuation/spelling, I’m talking broken english.

Hmmm, I guess this post must be a scam as well…

.

Sorry, THEIR and GRAMMAR. It was late. Again wasn’t talking grammar/punctuation/spelling.
